July 4th is one of the highlights of our outreach ministry. We call this ministry campaign " Freedom Fest". We prepare for this event months ahead and on the day of the 4th at 6pm the festivities begin. RIC members cheerfully give out FREE food and beverages. The children love the inflatables and other activities. Vendors come to sell ice cream and other delights.
Members are colorfully clad in bright T-shirts. The parking lot is alive with music as guests filter through the 1200 car parking lot. They enjoy the festivities as they await the big event of the evening, the fire works at the baseball stadium next door. However, the real "fire works" take place as members mingled with the crowd seizing opportunities to minister the love of Jesus and to offer the "free gift" of salvation.
Due to there being no fireworks on July 4, 2010, Freedom Fest will not be held.
